Colitis and Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation and ulcers (sores) in the large intestine (colon) and rectum. Painful and debilitating, there is no cure, but long-term remission and reduced symptoms are possible with treatment.

Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis

While the cause of Crohn's and ulcerative colitis is still unknown, continuing medical research is an important aspect of the clinical care for IBD patients. Research studies and clinical trials are ongoing at the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.
