Accountable Care Organization (ACO)

Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, who come together voluntarily to give coordinated, high-quality care to their patients.

The goal of coordinated care is to ensure that patients, especially the chronically ill, get the right care at the right time, while avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors. By helping your doctors and primary care providers to communicate more closely with your other health care providers, ACOs can deliver high-quality, more coordinated care that meets your individual needs and preferences.

Boston Accountable Care Organization, Inc. (“BACO”) and BMC Integrated Care Services, Inc. (“BMCICS”) are both Accountable Care Organizations.
