This recipe is an alternative version of a regular meat burger. By adding blueberries into the meat patty, you can get more fiber and antioxidants that a regular meat burger contains. It also adds a touch of sweetness.

Ingredients

Blueberries - ¾ cup, fresh or frozen Ground-beef - 8 oz (90% lean) Mustard - ¼ teaspoon Optional - chives, basil (fresh or dried)

Instructions

Step 1
Place ¾ cup of blueberries into food processor or blender and pulse until coarsely ground. If using fresh, gently mash with hands or fork.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine beef, berries, mustard and seasonings. Mix well and form in to three burgers. Patties will be soft & sticky.
Step 3
Place blueberry patties in plastic wrap and let chill for about 30 minutes.
Step 4
Cook on a grill or sautée pan until burger has reached its desired doneness.
Step 5
Serve on bun (whole wheat) with desired condiments.
