Newborns have jerky movements and strong reflexes, so will do things like grasp your finger hard. They'll slowly gain more control over their head and body.

Many people have stitches after having a baby. They usually fall out about two weeks after the baby was born. You may still have soreness and discomfort. Be patient as your body heals.

You can start pelvic floor exercises to help with pelvic or perineum pain as soon as two weeks after birth. Exercises can also help with leaking urine.
