Bump & Beyond

Your baby is the size of a papaya!

They have tiny fingernails now. Blood is flowing through the cord to bring oxygen and food to help them grow. They can hear your heartbeat, your stomach growling, and your breathing.

Your baby’s grip is getting stronger. They can touch their ears and the cord.

Watch for signs of high blood pressure or preeclampsia, like swelling in your face or hands, a bad headache that won’t go away, or changes in your vision. Belly pain (especially on the right side), sudden weight gain, or feeling very short of breath can also be warning signs.

Early care can help keep you and your baby safe. It’s important to learn more about preeclampsia, other pregnancy warning signs, and what it means to have a high-risk pregnancy.
