Bump & Beyond

Your baby is the size of a coconut!

As your baby gets bigger, there is less room, so you may feel more kicks.

Your baby's brain is growing, and they can notice more sounds and movement. You may start to see a clearer pattern of when they are awake and when they are sleeping.

It’s normal to start thinking about what comes next after your baby is born, like family leave, help at home, and breastfeeding support.

You and a family member may be eligible for paid family medical leave through your work or the state. Take time to learn more about how to start your paid family leave paperwork so you can rest, recover, and bond after birth.

Birth Certificates

Have birth certificate questions? You will get step-by-step guidance on what happens in the hospital and what to do next.

After birth, you’ll fill out the Massachusetts Parent Worksheet for a Certificate of Live Birth—this is used to create your baby’s birth certificate, so it helps to write clearly and double-check names and details.

After the hospital files the birth record, a certified copy is usually available to order later.
