Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

Dried dates offer nutrients like fiber iron, potassium, B vitamins, copper, and magnesium, but they are sweet enough to taste like candy!

Ingredients

Dates - 8 pitted, dry dates Chocolate-chips - ¾ cup (use stevia-sweetened chocolate chips to reduce sugar, carb and calorie content). Nut-Butter - ¼ cup almond, peanut, sunbutter or wowbutter Nuts -2 Tablespoons peanuts, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios or other nuts (optional)

Instructions

Step 1
Cut dates in half, lengthwise.
Step 2
Spread nut or seed butter on the top of each piece of date (there will be 16 pieces).
Step 3
Melt chocolate in the microwave: place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. If not melted, microwave another 30 seconds.
Step 4
Dip each nut-butter covered date in chocolate to coat. Place on a plate.
Step 5
Chop nuts, if using, and sprinkle them over the dates. Refrigerate until the chocolate is set (~2 hours), and enjoy!

Notes

*If you prefer to use a no-added-sugar chocolate chip, look for chocolate chips sweetened with Stevia.

Nutrition facts are calculated using Medjool dates (a type of date, larger than some other kinds), semi-sweet chocolate chips, and peanut butter.
