Nausea and vomiting are common side effects caused by certain types of cancer and treatment. Nausea and vomiting can keep you from getting the food and nutrients you need. Although you might not feel hungry, you should still eat. Some tips for managing nausea include, eating foods that are easy on the stomach and eating 5-6 small meals each day instead of 3 large meals. This recipe is an example of a small meal that is easy on the stomach and can help you manage symptoms of nausea! 


 


 

Ingredients


Pita_Bread - whole wheat Chickpeas - 1 (15 oz.) can Oil - ¼ cup olive oil Water - 3 Tablespoons Cumin - ½ teaspoon cumin Lemon - 1, juiced and zested Optional - salt to taste Optional - chopped parsley or cilantro

Instructions

Step 1
Cut whole wheat pita bread into triangles.
Step 2
In a blender, combine the chickpeas, olive oil, water, cumin, lemon juice, and zest. Puree the beans until smooth. Season with salt to taste. Scoop onto a plate or bowel.
Step 3
Optional: drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the parsley.

Notes

Substitute whole wheat pita with whole wheat bread or whole wheat tortilla.
