Ingredients
Water
- 1 cup, warm (110-115 degrees – like a nice, hot shower temperature)
Active_dry_yeast
- 1 (.25 ounce) packet (2 ¼ teaspoons)
Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
Whole_wheat_flour
- 2 ¼ cups
Oil
- 1 Tablespoon
Salt
- ½ teaspoon
Tomato_sauce
- ½ cup, no-salt added
Shredded_mozzarella_cheese
- 8 ounces (2 cups) reduced fat
Toppings
- 2-3 cups (green pepper, onion, zucchini, pineapple, mushrooms, etc)
Instructions
Step 1
In a small bowl combine water, yeast, and sugar. Mix until yeast is dissolved. Let stand 10 minutes until begins to bubble.
Step 2
In a large bowl add the flour, oil, salt, and yeast mixture. Stir well to combine
Step 3
Knead for 8 minutes, sprinkling with extra flour as needed.
Step 4
Cover and set in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Step 6
Spray a pizza pan or cookie sheet with vegetable oil spray. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. Place on pizza pan.
Step 7
Top dough with tomato sauce, sprinkle with cheese, then add toppings. Bake for 10 -12 minutes, or until desired doneness.
