Muhammara or mhammara is a spicy dip made of walnuts, red peppers, pomegranate molasses, and spices. It is associated with Aleppo, Syria but can also be found in Turkey. Muhammara is especially popular in southeastern regions, where Arab dishes are more common in the local cuisine because of the Syrian cultural influence. Serve with pita chips, fresh warm pita, or raw vegetables.
