Sometimes, you may just want a burger and fries! Here is a plant-based burger that is full of flavor, and baked fries. Your can customize this recipe but putting your favorite toppings on the burger. 

Ingredients


Bean-Burgers Black-beans - 2 (15.5oz) cans Onion - 1 small, white onion Broccoli - 1 head Garlic - 3 cloves or 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder Oats - ½ cup Eggs - 1 large Salt - ¼ teaspoon Chili-powder - 1 teaspoon Condiment - 2 Tablespoons BBQ sauce, ketchup, or Sriracha Fries Yucca - 1 medium (If you are looking for a lower carbohydrate option, buy 1 rutabaga. We will show you how to cut it) Oil - 1 Tablespoon avocado, canola, sesame or light olive oil Roll - Low carb/whole grain roll (optional) Toppings - Optional toppings include: avocado, lettuce, fried egg, salsa, or hot sauce

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees °F .
Step 2
Cut off both ends of the yucca root. Then cut them into 3 to 4-inch rounds, depending on the length of the yucca.
Step 3
Make a shallow cut lengthwise into the skin of the yucca. Work your thumbs under one side of the cut. Once you’re underneath the peel, you can work your thumbs down the length of the root, peeling the skin off.
Step 4
Chop the yucca into ½ inch sticks. Add to the pan and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes or until crispy.
Step 5
While the fries bake, open the cans of black beans, drain, rinse and add to a bowl. Mash with a fork or potato masher.
Step 6
Finely chop the onion and broccoli and add to the bowl. Mince the garlic and add to the bowl.
Step 7
Blend the oats in the blender into a flour-like consistency. Add to the bowl.
Step 8
Add the egg, chili powder, and sauce (BBQ, ketchup, or sriracha) to the bowl.
Step 9
Mash together until a dough forms. Form the dough into 4 balls and flatten into patties.
Step 10
Preheat a frying pan with canola oil over medium-high heat. Cook the patties 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Step 11
Serve burgers with or without a bun and topped with your favorite sauce, vegetables, or even a fried egg! Enjoy the fries with the sauce you choose for the burgers (BBQ, Sriracha, or ketchup).
