Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are passed from person to person through sexual contact. Often there are no symptoms, so an infected person may not know they are putting others at risk for an STD. When symptoms are present, they include anything from genital sores to pain during sex. Examples of STDs include:

  • Chlamydia
  • Genital warts
  • Gonorrhea
  • Hepatitis C
  • HIV
  • Mycoplasma genitalium
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis
