Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive loss of brain cell function and number, resulting in symptoms like confusion, loss of memory and social skills, and overall brain function (dementia). Most often seen in older adults, genetics (runs in the family) and lifestyle seem to play a factor. Women are more likely to develop Alzheimer's than men. Depending on the person, it can progress slowly or quickly, and there is no cure.
