The Center for Sexual Medicine is one of the oldest sexual medicine clinics in the world, founded in 1998 to diagnose and treat men with sexual health concerns in a multidisciplinary fashion. Over the years, it has cared for more than 20,000 people, treating all aspects of sexual health.

A department providing urinary medicine and urologic surgery for kidney stones, incontinence, prostate issues, and infections.

Primary care for people over 18 years old including preventive services, routine exams, chronic disease management, and treatment of minor illness.

A program providing gender health services, including gender-affirming care with clinical support and hormone therapy.

A department providing evaluation and treatment for brain and nerve conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and headaches.

A department providing women’s reproductive healthcare and other OBGYN services, including pregnancy, fertility, and menstrual conditions.

A department providing medical imaging, including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to support diagnosis and care across the hospital.

Education and Training

Fellowship in Sexual Medicine and Infertility

The BMC Urology Department oversees a a post-residency fellowship in sexual medicine and infertility that provides training for added expertise in these sub-specialty areas of urology. This is a one-year research and clinical fellowship, with one day of protected research time each week.

Urology Residency

The Department of Urology trains residents in the art, science, and practice of urology. Residents receive instruction in all sub-specialties of urology in our high-volume and diverse clinic. We also educate medical students at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine on foundational concepts in urology.
