The Yawkey building entrance is now closed.

As of April 29, BMC’s Yawkey building doors are closed as an entrance. All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter the hospital via the Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk. Learn more.

Mentor trainings prepare mentors on how to best be role models for their mentees. These trainings go over general guidelines about leading activities, modeling appropriate behavior, and adhering to the goals and expectations of TEAM, as well as goal setting, and planning for the future.

Fall Trainings

TEAM fall trainings prepare mentors for the year ahead. Mentors work on team-building as well as reflecting on diversity, strengths, and leadership. Mentors also spend time reviewing expectations for the year, including group-generated goals and rules and possible scenarios they may encounter with their mentees.

Spring Trainings

To achieve TEAM’s goal of helping prepare mentors for the transition to adulthood, spring mentor trainings are largely focused on thinking about the future. Mentors do some reflecting on the year thus far in the program but also do activities on goal setting, vision planning, thinking about independence and self-advocacy, and vocational readiness.
