This savory snack mix is a crunchy, satisfying blend of whole-grain cereal, nuts, seeds, and spices—perfect for a quick bite or a party snack. It’s easy to customize with your favorite unsalted or lightly salted ingredients and packs in flavor without going overboard on sodium

Ingredients

Rice_Chex – 3 cups Corn_Nuts – 1 cup (unsalted or lightly salted) Pretzel_sticks – 1 cup (choose unsalted or low sodium) Sunflower_seeds – ½ cup (unsalted) Almonds – ½ cup (or your choice of nuts like cashews, lightly salted or unsalted) Olive_oil – 2 tbsp (or melted butter for a richer taste) Worcestershire_sauce – 1 tbsp (low-sodium version) Garlic_powder – 1 tsp Onion_powder – 1 tsp Smoked_paprika – ½ tsp (optional, for a smoky flavor) Dried_thyme_or_oregano – ½ tsp (optional for a herby touch) Black_pepper – ¼ tsp (freshly ground) Sea_salt – Pinch (optional and use sparingly to taste)

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
Step 2
Prepare your baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
Step 3
Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Nuts, pretzel sticks, sunflower seeds, and almonds.
Step 4
Make the seasoning mix: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil (or melted butter), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), dried thyme or oregano (if using), black pepper, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir well until everything is combined.
Step 5
Pour the seasoning mixture over the dry ingredients and toss everything together gently to coat evenly. Make sure all the Chex cereal and crunchy bits are well-coated with the seasoning.
Step 6
Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even toasting.
Step 7
Once the Chex Mix is golden and crispy, remove it from the oven and let it cool on the baking sheet. The mix will continue to crisp up as it cools.
Step 8
Once cooled, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
