Dr. Elizabeth N. Pearce is a Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. She was the 2018-2019 President of the American Thyroid Association. She is the Regional Coordinator for North America for the Iodine Global Network. She has served as a Deputy Editor for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, as an Associate Editor for the journals Thyroid, Clinical Thyroidology, and Endocrine Practice, and has served on multiple additional editorial boards. She co-chaired the American Thyroid Association’s 2017 Thyroid in Pregnancy Guidelines Task Force. Her research interests include iodine nutrition, thyroid function in pregnancy, the thyroid effects of environmental disruptors, and the effects of subclinical thyroid dysfunction. Dr. Pearce was the 2011 recipient of the American Thyroid Association’s Van Meter Award for outstanding contributions to research on the thyroid gland and was the 2018 Women in Thyroidology Woman of the Year.
