The Division of Anatomic Pathology at Boston Medical Center is housed within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and is affiliated with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Anatomic Pathology serves all patients, regardless of age or medical insurance status, who undergo a procedure or surgery that results in the removal of tissue. We also consider all physicians and services that generate these specimens to be our customers.

The division also manages BMC’s Decedent Affairs Office, which cares for deceased patients and their families and serves area funeral directors and related governmental agencies.
