For children who are born with, or develop, problems with their hearts (cardiac disease), the pediatric cardiology team at Boston Medical Center (BMC) provides non-invasive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care and collaborates with Boston Children’s Hospital if an intervention is needed.

The pediatric cardiology team works closely with many other medical specialties at BMC—especially pediatric primary care; maternal–fetal medicine, obstetrics, and newborn medicine (neonatology); and adult cardiology—to provide care for children with:

  • Acquired heart disease
  • Arrhythmias
  • Chest pain
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Heart murmurs
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Hypertension
  • Kawasaki disease
  • Rheumatic fever
  • Syncope (fainting)
