BMC’s Travel Clinic providers offer expertise in travel medicine to all areas of the world. We provide comprehensive vaccination and preventive counseling before you travel, as well as diagnosis and treatment of travel-related illnesses and individualized services to travelers with specific health needs. Please make an appointment at least four weeks before your trip, if possible.

In conjunction with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, the Travel Clinic offers training in travel and tropical medicine to both internal medicine residents and infectious diseases fellows.

Infectious Diseases Fellowship

BMC offers a two-year infectious diseases fellowship with an optional third year of research as part of the hospital epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship track. Our program aims to produce well-rounded infectious disease practitioners with experience in microbiologic techniques, inpatient and outpatient care, and research.

Travel Medicine Research Overview

In partnership with the Boston University School of Public Health, the BMC Travel Medicine team is part of an ongoing research project to increase Chagas disease awareness and screening and improve diagnostic testing. This includes a biorepository of biological samples from patients with Chagas disease, which will drive further research into diagnostics.
