Yogurt is a fermented dairy product which provides probiotic bacteria that promote gut health. Plain yogurt does not contain any added sugar, and acts as a canvas of sorts in this recipe, to which dried herbs are added. The herb, salt, and lemon juice quantities are suggestions, but it is highly recommended to use your taste buds to increase seasoning as needed.

Ingredients


Yogurt - ½ cup low-fat Greek yogurt Garlic_powder - ⅛ teaspoon Onion_powder - ⅛ teaspoon Oregano - ¼ teaspoon, dried Salt - ⅛ teaspoon, or salt alternative Lemon-juice - ½ teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Top with a drizzle of oil for garnish if desired. Enjoy with chopped vegetables of your choice (cucumbers, broccoli, peppers, carrots, cauliflower).

Notes

Yogurt and Mayo version 

  • Yogurt - ½ cup plain, non-fat, Greek yogurt
  • Mayonnaise - ¼ cup, low-fat/ lite
  • Milk - ¼ cup 1% milk
  • Onion_powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic_powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Parsley - ½ teaspoon dried or 1 Tablespoon fresh
  • Dill - ½ teaspoon dried or 1 Tablespoon fresh
  • Salt - ¼ teaspoon
  • Black_pepper - pinch

Mix all ingredients in a bowl, cover and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
