Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES)

If you are having an emergency, please call 911.

PES is a standalone unit that is a part of Boston Medical Center’s Emergency Department. Providers evaluate and treat adults, children, and adolescents with emergency psychiatric needs and provide referrals to an appropriate level of care as necessary.

Services include:

  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Medical evaluation and clearance
  • Crisis intervention
  • Psychopharmacology
