Vomiting is the forceful emptying of the stomach’s contents through the mouth (throwing up). A stomach virus, accompanied by nausea and diarrhea, usually causes a typical bout, but when vomiting stands alone as a symptom and is on going, something more serious is suspected and an appointment with a doctor is necessary.
