Pregnancy (gestation) is the condition in which a person carries a fetus in the uterus (single or multiple), generally for 38–40 weeks, until birth.
Pregnancy is achieved through natural ways (having unprotected sex) or artificial ways (medical intervention). Early symptoms can include a missed menstrual cycle, nausea, hunger with weight gain, and frequent urination. Pregnancy is usually considered in three parts: the first, second, and third trimesters.
Prenatal care, which includes regular check-ups in each trimester and practicing good health and eating habits throughout the pregnancy, helps assure a healthy outcome for both parent and baby.
