Double vision, or diplopia, is the perception of two images when only one is present. The two types are monocular (involves one eye) and the more common binocular (involves two eyes, as in cross-eyed), and there is a huge range of causes, from cancer, certain medications, trauma, and tumors to the temporary kind caused by being drunk or head injury.
