Centering Patients with Fibroids

We adapted the CenteringPregnancy group education program developed by the Centering Healthcare Institute to provide education, empowerment, and peer community to patients with fibroids here at BMC. Our eight-week Centering Patients with Fibroids (CPWF) program discusses topics including fibroid symptoms, treatment options, environmental factors, mental health, and patient advocacy.

We completed 13 cohorts of CPWF here at BMC and at our partner institution, Emory University, with funding from Myovant Sciences and the federal Office on Women’s Health. Now, we are completing analysis on the success of the program, most importantly utilizing direct testimony from our patients to make the next version of CPWF even more patient-centered, educational, and empowering.

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
