About Healthy Habits

Healthy Habits is a collaboration between the Teaching Kitchen and the Nutrition and Weight Management Department. Join us to meet our dietitians and learn healthy eating tips to improve issues related to metabolic health including high blood pressure, high blood sugars, and maintaining healthy body weight. We offer these classes twice a month.

Protein

Meet our dietitians and learn about the importance of protein in the diet, what foods are good sources of protein, and healthy eating tips to help you get the right amount.

Vegetables

Did you know that vegetables vary a lot, nutritionally? Starchy vegetables that are higher in carbohydrates. Some vegetables are higher in protein (beans), while others are higher in fat (avocado). Non-starchy vegetables  are mainly water, fiber, and micronutrients. Meet our dietitians and learn about the importance of vegetables in the diet, and healthy eating tips to help you get the right amount.

Carbohydrates

Meet our dietitians and learn more about the health benefits of high carbohydrate foods, what foods are great sources of carbohydrates, and how to include them in your daily diet!

Fats

Meet our dietitians and learn about the role of fat in health, heart healthy fats to include in your diet, and how to incorporate them in your daily diet!
