Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

Maithri Ameresekere, MD, MSc, PMH-C, is a reproductive psychiatrist practicing in the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Additionally, she is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and serves as the Director of the BMC/BUCAM Women’s Mental Health Program.

Dr. Ameresekere’s clinical and research focus includes perinatal mental health; the mental well-being of immigrants and refugees; trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care; and initiatives aimed at eliminating barriers to accessing mental health services throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
