"Our inspiration was to address our food insecure patients, but our greater goal was to create a food-resilient infrastructure in the community we serve. We want to make Boston the healthiest urban population in the world." - David Maffeo, Senior Director of Support Services.

At BMC, we're increasing access to nourishing foods for our community by investing in programs such as:

  • Our Rooftop Farm, which produces over 4,000 pounds of food every year.
  • Our Preventive Food Pantry that serves ~7,000 patients and family members each month.
  • Our Teaching Kitchen offering over 300 medically-tailored classes on cooking healthy meals.
