Boston Medical Center’s Community Violence Response Team (CVRT) provides services to survivors of violence and family members who have been impacted by violence. We provide counseling services and other forms of support to children and adults of all ages. All services are free to clients and their families and are not insurance-based.

Community Violence Response Team (CVRT)

Trauma doctors specially trained to care for urgent injuries and critical conditions provide emergency surgical services, including ER surgery.

A department providing emergency care in the ER with 24/7 treatment for trauma and urgent medical conditions.

A children’s emergency department providing 24/7 care for newborns to age 22 with access to pediatric surgery, trauma, ENT, orthopedics, and more.
A program providing behavioral health services in other departments and supporting patients with mental health needs through coordinated care, screening, and treatment.

A department providing mental and behavioral health care to improve emotional wellbeing, including therapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Pediatric psychiatrists who provide pediatric mental health care with assessment and treatment for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other behavioral concerns.

Trauma and Acute Care Research Overview

In the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, injury reduction and prevention is a significant focus of research, as is research centered on community-based violence prevention, trauma-informed care, and firearm injuries.
