Education and Training

Clinical Externship Program

BMC Audiology offers an annual clinical externship program to Doctor of Audiology students. Externs are fully mentored, and intensive training is provided to ensure the extern meets their clinical goals and the supervisor’s goals in order to become an independent clinician. In addition, as a teaching hospital, we often have undergraduate students, medical students, and interns accompany our team during our clinical day.

Audiology Research

Boston Medical Center Audiology is actively involved in interdisciplinary pediatric research studies aimed at improving care for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children. Specifically, we focus on identifying gaps in care and designing targeted interventions for DHH children seen at BMC and improving congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) screening practices.
