Trigger point injections are a safe and very effective remedy for painful muscles around the neck, shoulders, and back. A small needle is inserted into the muscle and releases the "knot," an action which usually leads to lasting relief for up to two months. It can be thought of as a very strong massage.
Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure
Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9.
All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.
