If you have erectile dysfunction that doesn't respond to medications such as Viagra, your doctor may recommend a penile prosthesis.

A penile prosthesis is made up of two cylinders. When you want to engage in sexual activity, you can inflate the pump, which allows your penis to become hard. Some penile pumps are inflatable and are surgically implanted in your scrotum. Non-inflatable penile prostheses are made up of bendable rods that are implanted into the erection chambers of your penis.
