Weather Advisory: Temporary Door Closure

Due to extreme cold, access through the Moakley Building's entrance off Boston Medical Center Place will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, through 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2.

All patients and visitors should use the main entrance for the Menino and Yawkey Buildings during this time. The hospital remains open and operating as normal.

We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions during severe winter weather.

The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) measures how well your body is able to break down glucose, or sugar. First, a blood sample will be collected, providing a baseline for comparing other glucose values. You will then be asked to quickly drink between 75 and 100 grams of a sweet liquid containing a measured amount of glucose. Blood samples will be collected at timed intervals of 1, 2, and sometimes 3 hours after you drink the glucose.
