All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. Baclofen is a muscle relaxant that can be used to treat severe spasticity. In intrathecal baclofen therapy, your surgeon implants a pump that delivers baclofen directly into your spinal canal. Your doctor will program the pump so that you get baclofen a particular schedule.

Intrathecal baclofen therapy can be used for spasticity caused by:

  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Leukodystrophy
