Uri Avissar, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and a clinical associate professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine with expertise in hepatology and liver transplant. After receiving his medical degree, he completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is involved in training fellows, residents, and medical students at BMC and serves as the education director of the Massachusetts Gastroenterology Association. His clinical interests include liver disease, liver cancer, and cirrhosis.
