Tony Y. Tannoury, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Boston Medical Center (BMC), and an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Tannoury completed an orthopedic surgery residency at MedStar Health/Georgetown University Hospital and an orthopaedic surgery of the spine fellowship at University of Virginia Medical Center. Dr. Tannoury is a pioneer in minimally invasive spine procedures. His research interests include minimally invasive spinal surgery, safety and efficacy in the treatment of acute traumatic conditions, and degenerative disc disease, such as stenosis, disc herniation, spondylolisthesis, and scoliosis. Dr. Tannoury is the founder and president of Spinal Progress and Innovation for the Near East, a founding member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery, and an editor and reviewer for The Spine Journal. He is also the director of spine services at BMC.
