Sarah C. Nyirjesy, MD, has joined Boston Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery in the Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Dr. Nyirjesy earned her MD from Drexel University College of Medicine, completed her Otolaryngology residency at The Ohio State University, and a fellowship in Head & Neck Oncologic ... and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard/Mass Eye and Ear.
Dr. Sarah Nyirjesy welcomes referrals for the full spectrum of adult head and neck conditions. She specializes in the management of benign and malignant lesions of the head and neck including mucosal, salivary gland, cutaneous, and endocrine tumors. She has expertise in minimally invasive transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for oropharyngeal cancer and is trained in complex head and neck reconstruction with both locoregional and microvascular free flaps. She offers advanced surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disease, including minimally invasive robotic thyroidectomy. Dr. Nyirjesy also is certified in hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. She has experience with the surgical management of Eagle’s syndrome, paragangliomas, and other challenging head and neck disorders. Her research background includes 3D printing and the design of patient-specific medical devices.
