Richard Zhang, MD

Richard Zhang, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist for children, adolescents, and adults at Boston Medical Center (BMC), BMC Brighton, South Cove Community Health Center in the Chinatown neighborhood of Boston, and BMC South in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Dr. Zhang received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed his psychiatry residency training at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. He subsequently completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven.

Dr. Zhang’s clinical and research interests include cultural psychiatry throughout the lifespan, medical humanities, writing for the public, and advocacy, especially around reducing biases from countertransference in patient care and alleviating physician burnout.
