Rebecca S. Barbaresso, DO, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecological surgery at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Barbaresso earned her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing. She completed her OB/GYN residency ... training at Baystate Medical Center, in Springfield, Massachusetts, followed by a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery through the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky.
Dr. Barbaresso’s clinical focus includes the management of complex gynecologic conditions with particular expertise in endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, and abnormal uterine bleeding. She integrates innovative surgical techniques with compassionate care to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Barbaresso is deeply committed to advancing health equity and is passionate about addressing disparities in women’s healthcare and bridging gaps in access and education for diverse populations. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively involved in research and medical education, mentoring the next generation of gynecologic surgeons and advocating for equitable, evidence-based care.
