BMC’s Yawkey building doors are now closed as an entrance as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our campus and provide you with the best clinical care.

All patients and visitors on our main campus must enter our hospital via Shapiro, Menino, or Moakley buildings, where they will be greeted by team members at a new centralized check-in desk before continuing to the hospital. We are excited to welcome you and appreciate your patience as we improve our facilities.

Emily Swisher-Rosa is a midwife, women’s health nurse practitioner, and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. Before coming to BMC as a full-time midwife, she worked at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, Brockton Family Planning, and New England Mothers First, a breastfeeding medicine practice. Emily is passionate about working with women and families from all backgrounds and is especially interested in immigrant healthcare and Breastfeeding Medicine. Deeply committed to bringing language and racial equity to the forefront of her work, she is excited to be a co-founder of the Breastfeeding Equity Center and the Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic at BMC. She is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and is mother to four boys. Emily lives south of the city where she enjoys playing the violin, singing in a choir, spending time with her three dogs and many chickens, and harvesting the large garden tended by her husband—who grew up on a farm in Brazil.
