Christian Arbelaez, MD, MPH, is the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Arbelaez is an innovative leader and global expert in emergency care delivery systems and public health who focuses on improving access to care and health outcomes of vulnerable populations. Throughout his career, he has participated in several domestic and international volunteer relief efforts and has been awarded many prestigious teaching and leadership awards. Dr. Arbelaez received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He also earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and completed the Hispanic Mid-Career Executive Leadership Fellowship from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service Leadership Center.
