Alaina D. Geary, MD, MHPE, is an attending breast surgical oncologist and general surgeon at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Geary earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, completed her general surgery training at Boston Medical Center, and has ... pursued focused training in breast surgery and breast health. Her clinical practice is focused on breast cancer and benign breast diseases.
Dr. Geary also holds a master’s degree in health professions education (MHPE) from Boston University with a concentration in qualitative research methodology. Her research interests include surgical education and the intersection of surgical outcomes and social determinants of health.
Dr. Geary has a longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion both within New England and at the national level, and she is currently (2024–2026) serving as a Ravin Davidoff Physician Executive Fellow in Health Equity at BMC.
