The Certification and Recertification Process

The process of BLS certification and recertification is simple. Classes are taught in a blended format. There are four steps:

  1. Complete the online program.
  2. Schedule a hands-on skills session at the appropriate campus. Skills sessions for employees are offered at BMC (main campus), BMC Brighton, BMC South, and BMC Behavioral Health Center Brockton. Skills sessions for outside students are held only at the BMC main campus.
  3. Complete the hands-on skills session with an instructor (about 90 minutes).
  4. The certification card will be emailed to you the next day.

Skills Session Locations

The skills sessions are held in various locations around the BMC campuses. When you register, please make note of the location at which your session will be held.
