La hepatitis B es una infección del hígado que puede ser aguda (dura menos de 6 meses) o crónica (dura). Transmitida de persona a persona a través de fluidos corporales, la hepatitis B es una infección grave que causa síntomas como ictericia (color amarillo de la piel y los ojos), fiebre, náuseas, fatiga y más. La hepatitis B crónica aumenta el riesgo de cáncer de hígado, insuficiencia hepática y cirrosis (cicatrización del hígado).
