Sarah Mueller, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pathologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) who serves as Medical Director of Hematology and of the Hemoglobin Diagnostic Reference Lab as well as Associate Medical Director of Molecular Pathology. Additionally, she holds the position of Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Mueller ... completed her MD and PhD in Pharmacology and Molecular Cancer Biology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, followed by a residency in Clinical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Previous to her work at BU/BMC, Dr. Mueller was the Medical Director of the Division of Diagnostic Hematology at a national reference laboratory.
Dr. Mueller is particularly interested in acquired and hereditary thrombophilias, resident education, and collaborating with clinicians to improve the safety and utility of laboratory testing for patients.
