Sarah Mueller, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pathologist and Medical Director of the Hematology Lab at Boston Medical Center (BMC). She also serves as an Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Mueller completed her MD and PhD in Pharmacology and Molecular Cancer Biology at Duke University in Durham, North ... Carolina, followed by a residency in Clinical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Previous to her work at BU/BMC, Dr. Mueller was the Medical Director of the Division of Diagnostic Hematology at a national reference laboratory.
Dr. Mueller is particularly interested in acquired and hereditary thrombophilias, resident education, and collaborating with clinicians to improve the safety and utility of laboratory testing for patients.
