Edina A. Wappler-Guzzetta, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pathologist and Assistant Medical Director of the Blood Bank & Transfusion Service at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she oversees the apheresis service and the cell therapy lab in addition to, with the service medical director, the transfusion service.

In addition, Dr. Wappler-Guzzetta serves as Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Associate Program Director for the department’s Pathology Residency Training Program.

Dr. Wappler-Guzzetta’s research interests include transfusion and cellular therapy product infusion adverse events, transfusion safety, massive transfusion, cell therapy, coagulation, oncotherapy research, and neuroscience.
