About

Carl G. Streed Jr., MD, MPH, FACP, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and the research lead for the GenderCare Center at Boston Medical Center (BMC). He is also an associate professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Streed completed his medical degree and internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University. He has chaired the American Medical Association Advisory Committee on LGBTQ Issues and served on the board of GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality, and he currently serves on the faculty advisory board of the Medical Student Pride Alliance and as the president of the U.S. Professional Association for Transgender Health. Dr. Streed's efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of sexual and gender minorities have earned him awards from the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University Alumni Associations, the American Medical Association Foundation, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
