Jean M. Francis, MD, is a nephrologist and Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, where he is also an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Nephrology. He also serves as the Medical Director of the combined Pancreas Transplant Program between Boston University and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Francis has over 20 years of experience and is an expert in the early detection and diagnosis of thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). His other areas of specialization include BK virus infection, antibody mediated rejection, recurrent glomerulonephritis (GN), and metabolic disorders that occur after kidney transplantation.
