Michael R Cassidy, MD is a surgical oncologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an expert in treating breast cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, melanoma and cutaneous oncology, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Cassidy is also Medical Director of the Belkin Breast Health Center and assistant professor of Surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology. Dr. Cassidy received his medical degree from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and completed a residency in surgery at Boston Medical Center, including a research fellowship in surgical quality improvement and patient safety. He went on to complete a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was elected Chief Fellow. Dr. Cassidy has a particular interest and advanced training in the care of patients with breast cancer, melanoma, and soft tissue sarcoma.
